Podcast Cathy Morrow Roberson

Whether its planes, trains, trucks or ocean liners in the U.S. or beyond, all are connected links in global supply chains. That means, if something happens to one mode, or in one area, there are ripple (or snowball - 'tis still the season) effects. On this episode of The Intermodal Logistics Podcast, we welcome Cathy Morrow Roberson, Founder and Head Analyst of Logistics Trends & Insights, to o over some of the latest happenings and what they mean.

Cathy walks us through several major supply chain storylines, including the proposed railroad merger between UP and NS, trucking capacity and FMCSA (and state-level) enforcement, ocean freight volumes and the latest on the Red Sea, tariffs and trade policy, and trends in air cargo. She also breaks down how air and ocean freight interact and influence each other.

Prior to diving into those topics, we talk with Cathy about her own journey - how she moved from a librarian role into a logistics career at UPS, and ultimately became a leading industry analyst. She highlights the importance of research and networking across the freight community, and she shares how opportunities for women and minorities in logistics have expanded since she started her career - while acknowledging there’s still progress to be made.
